![]() EXCLUSIVE to Pokerimages is the fabulous celebrity photography of Ulvis Alberts. During his illustrious career, the Latvian American artist has taken some of the most iconic shots of the great rock and roll legends and celebrities of the 60s, 70s and 80s including Paul McCartney, Peter Sellers, Bob Dylan, Alice Cooper and more recently Ben Affleck and Leonardo di Caprio. Alberts was at the forefront of the poker boom during the 70s and 80s when he was the only photographer to take a serious interest in the then extremely niche field of poker and the World Series of Poker. At a time when photography was only just starting to be accepted as an art form, Alberts was presenting his images of the contemporary poker greats as fine art limited edition prints. He also compiled a book of black & white photographic portraits POKER FACE (now out of print) that is currently changing hands for an incredible $1,250. The images have also featured in many other books and magazines, including Al Alvarez's 2001 book "POKER: Bets, Bluffs and Bad Beats" (Chronicle Books/US: Bloomsbury/UK). Specialist photo archive Pokerimages has secured exclusive rights to some of his finest poker and celebrity portraiture, all of which have been signed by Alberts and some of which have been signed and annotated by the celebrities as well. These images are now available through Pokerimages as hand-printed, black and white, silver-gelatin fibre archive-treated prints - printed by Alberts himself in his own dark room.
